At Saturday Night’s Main Event, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will face Drew McIntyre once more. McIntyre injured Rhodes when he hit the champion with a brutal Claymore Kick, sending Rhodes’ head through the announce table. However, Rhodes returned on the Sept. 12 episode of SmackDown and attacked McIntyre. Rhodes kept his title against McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza after the referee got in the way of McIntyre’s attack. Determined to succeed, McIntyre defeated Jacob Fatu to become the No. 1 Contender for the Undisputed WWE Title again.

CM Punk will face Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Punk beat Uso and LA Knight in a thrilling Triple Threat Match to become the No. 1 Contender for the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins. However, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed suddenly attacked the already injured Rollins, leaving him unable to compete. As a result, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce had to take the World Title from him. The following week, Uso won a No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal, earning the chance to challenge The Second City Saint for the vacant title at Saturday Night’s Main Event.

Saturday Night’s Main Event, Tiffany Stratton will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill once more. Since Stratton used the Money in the Bank contract on Nia Jax to win the title in January, SmackDown has been all about Tiffy Time. The champion has faced all challengers, whether on the mic or in title matches against Jax, Charlotte Flair, and WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus. Even though Stratton beat Cargill at SummerSlam to keep the title, Cargill will not back down. After saving Stratton from an attack by Giulia and Kiana James, Cargill launched a surprise attack on the champion and made it clear that she is ready for a title rematch.

Dominik Mysterio will have to defend his Intercontinental Championship against Rusev and Penta in a Triple Threat Match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. After El Grande Americano, Rayo Americano, and Bravo Americano attacked Penta and Rusev during their Intercontinental Title No. 1 Contender’s Match, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce decided that both Superstars will face the hesitant “Dirty” Dom.
